May, 29: Tata Power Solar Rooftop, part of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited  and a subsidiary of Tata Power, today launched its flagship ‘Ghar Ghar Solar’ campaign along with Tata Power Battery Storage, an integrated Battery Energy Storage Solutions  in Lucknow to accelerate rooftop solar adoption and enable reliable, round-the-clock clean energy access for households and communities across urban, semi-urban, and rural areas of the state.Tata Power to make UP a Solar Energy Hub; Launches ‘Ghar Ghar Solar’ Campaign in Lucknow

The initiative aims to help consumers meet their rising electricity needs in a cost-effective and sustainable manner. With increasing power consumption driven by air conditioners, household appliances, irrigation, electric mobility, and small businesses, Tata Power Solaroof’s integrated clean energy ecosystem will enable consumers to seamlessly generate, store, and utilize solar power while significantly reducing electricity bills and dependence on conventional grid power.

Uttar Pradesh has emerged as one of the country’s fastest-growing rooftop solar markets under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. Recognizing the state’s immense potential, Tata Power Solar Rooftop plans to undertake 3 lakh rooftop solar installations across Uttar Pradesh over the next three years, targeting a cumulative capacity of 1,000 MWp. The state also offers one of the highest rooftop solar subsidy structures in India – up to ₹1.08 lakh for systems up to 3 kW under the combined benefits of the PM Surya Ghar scheme subsidy and the State Government subsidy – making it one of the most attractive and consumer-friendly regions for rooftop solar adoption in the country.

As part of its broader clean energy outreach, the company is driving community-led solar adoption through its ‘Mera Gaon, Mera Solar’ initiative, focused on expanding rooftop solar awareness and accessibility across semi-urban and rural markets. In line with this initiative, TPREL signed an MoU with Uttar Pradesh Gramin Bank, the country’s largest Regional Rural Bank (RRB), to extend rooftop solar adoption to the remotest parts of rural Uttar Pradesh. Also, the company has proposed a unique incentive, where every 100 homes solarised in a village unlocks options from curated bouquet of CSR offerings, empowering communities to accelerate their journey towards truly ‘Aatma Nirbhar’ communities.

A “Special Financing Scheme,” in partnership with one of the financial partners, was also introduced exclusively for customers in Uttar Pradesh. The scheme offers zero down payment, instant digital sanction, affordable EMIs with shorter tenures, and faster loan disbursement.

For customers adopting smaller rooftop systems of 1 kW and 2 kW particularly under theMera Gaon, Mera Solar’ initiative the financing benefits include zero upfront investment, EMIs equivalent to monthly electricity bills, and solar insurance coverage to safeguard installations.
