India Dominates World Stage with 13 Medals at Bangkok 2026 Para Archery Series

New Delhi/Bangkok, Apr 06: The Archery Association of India proudly celebrates a phenomenal and inspiring performance by Indian para-archers at the Bangkok 2026 Hyundai World Archery Para Series, with India finishing at the top of the medal standings with an outstanding total of 13 medals.

India concluded the tournament with 7 Gold, 3 Silver, and 3 Bronze medals, marking one of its most dominant performances on the global para-archery stage.

A 22-member Indian contingent competed across Recurve, Compound, and W1 categories, delivering exceptional results built on grit, determination, and extraordinary resilience—qualities that define the spirit of Indian para-athletes.

India’s campaign was spearheaded by a complete dominance in compound archery, with the team sweeping all three team gold medals. Sheetal Devi and Payal Nag secured gold in the Compound Women’s Team event, Toman Kumar and Shyam Sunder Swami clinched gold in the Compound Men’s Team event, while Sheetal Devi and Toman Kumar added another gold in the Compound Mixed Team category.

India also secured gold in the Recurve Men’s Team event through Vijay Sundi and Harvinder Singh, while multiple podium finishes across individual and team events contributed to the historic tally.

A defining highlight of the campaign was the all-India final in the Compound Women’s Individual event, reflecting the depth and dominance of Indian para-archery at the highest level.

Commenting on the performance, Shri Arjun Munda, President, Archery Association of India said: “This is a truly historic and proud moment for Indian para-archery. Finishing at the top of the medal standings with 16 medals reflects not just performance, but the incredible grit, resilience, and determination of our athletes. They have shown the world what Indian para sport is capable of.”
