Mr. Manish Tiwary shared, “At Nestlé India, we believe in fostering long-term, sustainable changes that uplift communities and enhances livelihoods. I am pleased to see the positive transformation across villages driven by Project Vriddhi, strengthening community capabilities for self-driven development through an integrated approach.”
Ms. Anjali Makhija, Trustee & CEO, S M Sehgal Foundation, said “Project Vriddhi has completed six impactful years and we hope to reach many more villages in the coming years. It is heartening to see the awareness generation in action as communities lead their own development.”
A pond in village Uleta has also been rejuvenated with an additional 5 million liters of enhanced storage capacity. The panchayat has leased the pond for pisciculture to sustain the intervention and generate revenue. As a part of Project Vriddhi, the team has restored eight more ponds, enhancing water storage capacity by 25 million liters; engaging over 1,200 farmers in adopting best agricultural practices and 15 to 18 percent increase in yield; transforming eight schools, benefiting approximately 2500 schoolchildren. Additionally, the project has empowered 350 women through nutrition-focused training, supported the creation of 233 kitchen gardens, and established village development committees to ensure the long-term sustainability of these initiatives.
