Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang Chairs High-Level Meeting on Forest, Environment and Wildlife Clearances; Reviews CAMPA Governance

New Delhi, June 02: Prem Singh Tamang chaired a highlevel meeting on ForestEnvironment and Wildlife Clearances on Thursday, followed by the Governing Body meeting of the State Authority CAMPA, to review ongoing initiatives and strengthen measures aimed at balancing development with environmental sustainability across the state.

The meetings focused on expediting the forest and environmental clearance process to ensure greater convenience for the public while safeguarding ecological balance and promoting sustainable development.

During the deliberations, several important strategies were discussed to further strengthen environmental conservation and wildlife protection measures across the state. The Chief Minister urged forest officials to maintain complete transparency, enhance coordination among departments, and ensure that all forest-related initiatives are carried forward in a more efficient and people-centric manner.

A comprehensive roadmap was also proposed for the effective implementation of decisions relating to wildlife clearances and environmental governance. To streamline communication and improve coordination, it was collectively decided to appoint nodal officers in each department to facilitate quicker resolution of public concerns related to forest and environmental matters.

Special emphasis was also laid on undertaking large-scale plantation drives, particularly around water sources and ecologically sensitive areas, to strengthen environmental sustainability, improve green cover, and conserve natural resources for future generations.

The meeting reflected the State Government’s collective commitment towards balancing development with environmental protection while ensuring a transparent, efficient, and sustainable governance framework for the benefit of present and future generations.
