New Delhi, Sep 8: India is rapidly emerging as a major technology and innovation hub, with global companies increasingly using the country not only as a market but also as a base for research, product development and next-generation technologies.

Samsung South West Asia President and CEO JB Park said India has evolved significantly over the past three decades, moving from a market that primarily adopted global technologies to a country that is increasingly helping create and develop them.

Samsung, which entered India in 1995, has expanded its manufacturing, research and development capabilities in the country. Its R&D teams in Bengaluru and Noida work with Samsung’s global network, contributing to technologies and products designed for both Indian and international consumers.

Park said India’s scale, diversity and growing technology talent are encouraging Samsung to approach innovation differently. Solutions developed for India’s varied consumer needs can increasingly find applications in markets around the world.

Artificial intelligence is becoming a key part of this transformation. Samsung’s Indian engineers are working with global teams on new AI-driven experiences, with the focus increasingly shifting towards technology that can solve practical problems and improve everyday life.

The growing presence of global technology companies, combined with India’s expanding talent pool, digital infrastructure and manufacturing capabilities, is strengthening the country’s position in the global technology ecosystem.

For Samsung, India is now more than a large consumer market. It is becoming an important innovation base where talent, research, manufacturing and market demand come together to shape the company’s next generation of technology.
