Datadog Gives Teams Complete Visibility and Control of Real User Sessions with RUM Profiling, Managed Archive and Export Pipelines

TechnologyK Puspa03 Nov 2026

India, Nov 03: Datadog, Inc., the AI-powered observability and security platform, today announced the general availability of three new capabilities in its Real User Monitoringsuite: RUM Profiling, Managed Archive and Export Pipelines. Together, they give teams complete visibility and control of their real user sessions and data.

Organizations today struggle to answer three questions: “Why did this user experience degrade?”, “Can we get back to any session when we need it?” and “Do we own the data behind it?” With RUM Profiling, Managed Archive and Export Pipelines, Datadog is helping teams answer those questions. Teams can see everything through profiling, store everything through Managed Archive and own everything through Export Pipelines.

RUM Profiling

RUM tells you what broke; RUM Profiling tells you why. It attaches continuous, function-level CPU profiling directly to the exact view, action, long task or vital that degraded, so engineers can go straight to the responsible code method instead of guessing or trying to reproduce the issue.

RUM Profiling now spans Browser and Mobile, giving teams the same code-level debugging experience across their entire real-user surface, so there's no need to stitch together separate tools for web and mobile performance issues.

For the Android portion of RUM Profiling, Datadog partnered with the Android platform team to build on Android's ProfilingManager API, which lets apps safely profile in production without the performance and battery cost of legacy profiling. That data is then correlated directly to the RUM session, view, action or vital that was slow.

Managed Archive

Managed Archive lets teams store every session in Datadog-managed storage, so they have access to all sessions — without paying to fully index and retain everything upfront — allowing teams to recover sessions on demand for any support investigation or incident response.

The capability also enables longer-term access for compliance. Teams can access session-level data well beyond standard retention windows, giving compliance, legal, and regulated teams the data they need whenever an audit or investigation calls for it.

Export Pipelines

With Export Pipelines, teams can continuously send every RUM and Product Analytics event directly into the cloud storage they own — no custom scripts, no manual exports — and keep data for as long as they need.

Teams can also power their data analysis and ML models with Export Pipelines by feeding large volumes of raw behavioral events into their warehouse or data lake for ML training and cross-dataset analysis.

Datadog will discuss these new capabilities at Datadog Summit Munich (Nov 12), where Datadog executives will be on-site and available for media briefings.
