Sanchar Saathi, the citizen-centric initiative of the Department of Telecommunications, empowers citizens to protect themselves against telecom-related fraud. Through its Chakshu facility, users can report suspected fraudulent calls, SMS and WhatsApp messages, while the portal also enables citizens to check mobile connections registered in their name and block lost or stolen handsets. According to DoT, citizen reports through Sanchar Saathi have helped prevent suspected cyber-fraud losses exceeding ₹5,000 crore.

FACE, an RBI-recognised Self-Regulatory Organisation in the FinTech sector, works to advance responsible fintech practices with consumer protection at its core. Together, the three organisations aim to strengthen consumer awareness and encourage safer digital behaviour during the festive season and beyond.

Launching on Dussehra, the campaign draws inspiration from Ravana’s ten heads to spotlight ten common festive scams and how to avoid them. Coinciding with Cybersecurity Awareness Month, it will roll out across Navi’s social channels through short-form videos that make cyber safety engaging, relatable and easy to put into practice.

The campaign will cover:

  • 10 festive scams to watch out for: A breakdown of common scams, from fake delivery messages and fraudulent shopping websites to fake cashback offers, QR code fraud, impersonation and misleading cash offers.
  • 10 cyber safety habits to adopt: Quick, practical steps to strengthen digital safety, including enabling multi-factor authentication, keeping financial apps updated, reviewing app permissions and turning on transaction alerts.
  • Scam or Safe? Festive Edition: A scenario-led series featuring an expert, who breaks down everyday festive situations to help consumers identify potential scams and understand how to stay safe.

Through familiar festive situations and bite-sized guidance, the campaign will address how fraudsters exploit urgency, fear, impersonation and offers to prompt people into sharing sensitive information or making payments without verification. It aims to translate awareness into action, encouraging consumers to pause, verify and use available reporting channels when they encounter suspected fraud.

This festive season, the message is simple: enjoy the celebrations, pause before you pay, and stay scam-smart.
