New Delhi, Aug 4: The government has invited applications for recognition as Government Authorised Test Centres (GATCs) in a move aimed at strengthening India's quality assurance ecosystem and expanding the country's testing and verification infrastructure.

The initiative is expected to enhance the capacity of authorised laboratories and institutions to carry out product testing, certification and verification in line with national regulatory standards.

By increasing the number of recognised test centres, the government aims to improve the efficiency of product certification, reduce verification timelines and ensure faster compliance for industries across multiple sectors.
