Airtel welcomes Union Minister for Communications - Jyotiraditya Scindia, at its booth at IMC 2026

Oct 08: Union Minister for Communications - Jyotiraditya Scindia visited the Airtel Arena at IMC 2026, where Founder and Chairman - Bharti Enterprises, Sunil Bharti Mittal briefed him on how Airtel is setting the foundation to digital scaling in India through its future ready offerings across - cloud, data center and security.

On cloud, the Minister was showcased Airtel Cloud’s massive capabilities of true sovereignty and its multi-availability zones that help Indian enterprises strengthen their resilience, address data residency requirements and keep mission-critical workloads and applications up and running at all times.  Airtel also showcased how it is helping enterprises to modernize faster while retaining sovereign control over their critical data in India, with potential cost savings to support their secure digital growth. Minister was also showcased Airtel Cloud’s impressive scale of expansion that consolidates connectivity, cloud and data center services on a sovereign Indian stack.

The Chairman also detailed to the Minister about Airtel’s next-gen data center strengths at Nxtra, highlighting how sustainability is a core business imperative that is embedded into every design, build and operation decisions at Nxtra and how it is leveraging AI to ensure energy efficiency across its core facilities, setting new benchmarks for the industry as a sustainable data center company.

He also showcased Airtel’s AI powered iSoC strength that is already deployed for select customers like Indian Railways and EPFO. Minister was very curious to know about the types of attacks that Airtel can protect enterprises against, explaining which, Sunil Bharti Mittal detailed how Airtel’s iSOC is backed by impeccable five layers of security protection along with proactive, 24×7 managed defence and automated response, that detects and neutralises threats before they impact core systems, strengthening resilience at the edge. He also detailed how Airtel is collaborating with the Govt. of India and other large partners for further deployments.

The Minister was also showcased a unique initiative by The Bharti School of Telecommunication Technology & Management at IIT Delhi, where extensive research is being undertaken to explore how quantum-powered optimisation can help make telecom networks faster, smarter and more energy-efficient as part of a broader effort to build India’s home-grown capability in next-generation network technologies and prepare the country’s digital infrastructure for the scale and complexity of the future.
