Mumbai, Sep 29: Hindi Diwas and Prize Distribution Ceremony was organized at Bank of India, Head Office, Mumbai, on 27 September 2026. Hindi Diwas ceremony commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. Thereafter, the National Song was sung. This was followed by the reading of Hindi Diwas message of the Union Home & Cooperation Minister, Shri Amit Shah.

At the beginning of the programme, Ms.Mou Maitra, Assistant General Manager, provided information about the various activities organized by the Official Language Department during Hindi Month. Thereafter, Shri Amit Singh, General Manager, extended a warm welcome to everyone and gave detailed information about the Hindi-related activities undertaken in Bank.

 

On the occasion, the Bank’s Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Shri Rajneesh Karnatak; Executive Director, Shri P. R. Rajagopal; Executive Director, Shri Subrat Kumar; Executive Director, Shri Rajiv Mishra; Executive Director, Shri Pramod Kumar Dwibedi; Chief Vigilance Officer, Shri Lalit Taneja; Chief General Managers, General Managers and other officers and employees were present.

 

At Bank of India Head Office, Mumbai, Hindi Month was organized in September 2026 on the occasion of Hindi Diwas. During Hindi Month 2026, various Hindi competitions were organized for employees as well as senior executives, including Hindi Typing, Chitra Dekho Aalekh Likho, Online Official Language Knowledge, Calligraphy and General Knowledge, PPT Presentation, Computer-based Audio-Visual and Singing Competition. On this occasion, prizes were distributed to the winners of various competitions organized at Bank of India Head Office. In addition, a collection in the series Prasiddh Vyaktitva Shrinkhala and reference literature prepared in 16 regional languages were also released.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Rajneesh Karnatak, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, requested all staff members to carry out their day-to-day official work in Hindi, the Official Language, and contribute towards enhancing the prestige of Hindi as the Official Language of the country. While congratulating everyone, he stated that it was a matter of pride that the Bank had received the Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar for excellent implementation of the Official Language for the year 2025–26 in Region ‘B’ from the Official Language Department, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

 

Thereafter, Captain Abhilekh Kumar, Deputy General Manager, proposed a vote of thanks to all those present. The programme concluded with the National Anthem.
