Bhubaneswar, Aug 20: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi reviewed the ongoing redevelopment and infrastructure upgradation of SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack at Lok Seva Bhawan.

The review focused on strengthening medical infrastructure, expanding healthcare facilities and improving services for patients and their attendants.

Officials informed the Chief Minister that construction of four new clinical blocks and a residential block is progressing at the SCB campus. The residential block is nearing completion, while the clinical blocks are expected to be completed by June 2027.

Majhi directed officials to identify a suitable site for an additional Medicine Block and submit a proposal at the earliest. He also called for faster completion of the ongoing projects without compromising construction quality.

The meeting reviewed the progress of a multi-level car parking facility and related infrastructure aimed at reducing congestion for patients, attendants and visitors. The Chief Minister also directed officials to complete the traffic corridor linked to the Taladanda Canal and undertake road widening and beautification around the hospital.

The redevelopment is aimed at giving SCB Medical College and Hospital modern infrastructure and stronger medical facilities, while making the hospital environment more accessible and patient-friendly.
