Dr. Ajeet Bana is a senior cardiothoracic surgeon with over three decades of experience in cardiac surgery, heart failure management, and advanced cardiovascular care. A pioneer of off-pump coronary artery bypass and minimally invasive cardiac surgery, he has performed over 20,000 cardiac surgeries with outcomes comparable to global benchmarks.

As Chairman of Cardiac Sciences at EHCC Hospital, Jaipur, Dr. Bana has played a pivotal role in advancing complex cardiac care in India. He established Rajasthan's first comprehensive Heart Failure and ECMO programme and led the state's earliest successful heart transplant programme, expanding access to advanced treatment for patients with complex cardiovascular disease. His clinical expertise spans coronary artery bypass surgery, valve repair and replacement, minimally invasive cardiac surgery, heart failure management, ECMO, structural heart interventions, and heart transplantation.

An internationally recognised cardiac surgeon, Dr. Bana serves as South East Asia's Proctor for sutureless valve technology, mentoring surgeons in the adoption of next-generation valve replacement techniques. Over the years, he has trained and guided numerous cardiothoracic surgeons across India, contributing to the wider adoption of advanced surgical practices and strengthening cardiac surgery programmes nationwide.

Alongside his clinical work, Dr. Bana is actively involved in research and medical education. He serves as Section Editor for Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery in the Indian Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery and is a co-investigator in the Indian Inspiris Registry, a multicentric study evaluating aortic valve bioprostheses. His research has been presented at leading international scientific forums, including the American Association for Thoracic Surgery, the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (EACTS), and the International Coronary Congress.

A strong advocate for preventive healthcare and organ donation, Dr. Bana has led public awareness initiatives on heart health, CPR training, and organ donation in collaboration with organisations such as SOTTO. Through educational programmes, community outreach, and mentorship, he continues to champion early diagnosis, timely intervention, and greater awareness of cardiovascular health across India.

Dr. Bana's contributions to cardiac surgery, research, and public health have been recognised through several prestigious honours, including the Excellence Presentation Award presented by the Vice President of India, the Appreciation Award for Research presented by the President of India, the Doctor's Glory Award, and recognition from the Government of Rajasthan for his contributions to organ donation and public health.
