Chennai, Oct 06:  Dr N. Sekhar, renowned Vascular Surgeon, Kauvery Hospital, was honoured with the prestigious Dr K. V. Thiruvengadam Award for Health Care Excellence for his pioneering contributions to vascular surgery, commitment to patient-centred care and efforts to strengthen vascular healthcare services across the region. The award was conferred by the Rotary Club of Madras East, in association with Kauvery Hospital, at a ceremony held in Chennai.

The award, instituted in 2006, recognises healthcare professionals for clinical excellence, compassionate patient care and contributions to advancing healthcare. This year’s edition held special significance as it marked the Centenary Year of Dr K. V. Thiruvengadam’s legacy.

Dr Darez Ahamed, Health Secretary, Government of Tamil Nadu, presented the award as Chief Guest, while Dr Mayil Vahanan Natarajan, former Vice-Chancellor of Dr MGR Medical University, attended as Guest of Honour. Dr Aravindan Selvaraj, Co-Founder and Executive Director, Kauvery Hospital, the long-standing sponsor of the award, was also present.
