Ahmedabad, Sep 28: A six-day Faculty Mentor Development Programme was organised at the EDII, Ahmedabad campus for 40 faculty members from higher education institutions and universities in Odisha. The programme aims to empower faculty members to promote student entrepreneurship in the state.

The programme was announced by the Hon’ble Minister of Higher Education during his visit to EDII last month and was formally launched in Bhubaneswar on September 5. The Department of Higher Education selected 40 faculty members for the first phase and sent them to EDII, Gandhinagar for training.

The programme concluded with each faculty member presenting an individual action plan outlining the initiatives to be implemented at their respective institutions. The primary objective is to prepare campuses for student entrepreneurship development, thereby nurturing young people who can create employment opportunities and contribute towards realising the vision of a developed Odisha.

On the occasion, Dr. Sunil Shukla, Director General, EDII, said,

“This programme will pave the way for promoting entrepreneurship at scale in government institutions. The real beneficiaries will be the students and the entire ecosystem.”

EDII has previously collaborated on similar initiatives with the governments of Uttarakhand, Goa and Gujarat.
